S.P.A.I.C. Has dedicated, since its constitution in 2007, great effort in applied Research, with an auto-funded development of  technology demonstrators aimed to test the applicability of innovative technologies to the industrial application in which S.P.A.I.C. currently is active. Among these, it is worth mentioning the rovers Vibrissa, D.R.E.A.M. and X, aimed to test respectively the employement of  an autonomous navigation strategy, switched reluctance motors and PEM fuel cell for wheel traction on rocky and sandy terrains.





Since the beginning of 2009, S.P.A.I.C. is active in STEPS (download document - only italian) and SMAT-F1 (download document - only italian), two of three projects funded by Regione Piemonte for the growth of Distretto Aerospaziale Piemontese (Piedmont Aerospace District), where S.P.A.I.C. Operates in partnership with two of the major aerospace industries at international level.










In 2010 it is foreseen the kick-off of the project M.A.R.I.S.S.A., of which S.P.A.I.C. Will be prime contractor funded by MiUR (Italian Minister of University and Research) in a call for the industrial development of ICT sector in Piedmont.
